Amazon Alexa Skill
We have developed a powerful Amazon Alexa Skill which enables residents to engage with the council across a wide-range of recycling and waste related issues.
For example you can ask Alexa how to recycle thousands of everyday household items and materials, with comprehensive and detailed answers provided.
The information is provided by the same system as our Citizen Mobile app, meaning the council only needs to manage the information in a single place for both the mobile app and Alexa Skill.

ResidentOn Wednesday 4th September your recycling bin will be collected. On Wednesday 11th September your general waste bin and garden waste bin will be collected.

ResidentYou can put cardboard items such as cereal boxes in your blue recycling bin.
AlexaAlexa, ask the council how I can dispose of old paint pots?
ResidentPlease do not contaminate your grey refuse bin with paint pots, otherwise your bin will not be collected. You can add soil, sand or sawdust to harden any remaining paint and take paint pots to your nearest recycling centre for disposal.
AlexaAlexa, ask the council what I should do with broken glass?
ResidentUnfortunately we cannot recycle broken glass. Please wrap it up carefully and put it in your grey refuse bin.
